About 1,200 visitors are expected to flood the streets of Sparta on Saturday for the official beginning of the sixth annual weeklong Cycle North Carolina.
The Alleghany County Public Library is in the process of purchasing a .268 acre tract of land on Main Street in Sparta for future expansion of the library.
Those wishing to register to take part in the upcoming presidential election must do so by Oct. 8, according to information provided by the Alleghany County Board of Elections.
