Fireworks planned July 4
Alleghany County's annual fireworks display is planned for Sunday, July
4.
The display is slated to be launched from Davis Field, behind Alleghany
High School, at night fall (between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.)
A rain date has been planned for Monday, July 5.
The show will be put on Hale Artificier Fireworks Inc. of Lexington.
The show is jointly financed by the town and county.
NAPCO Inc. and Alleghany County signed an incentive agreement on Monday that gives the company about $37,600 in incentives over the next five years for increasing investment and creating about 30 jobs.
Cliff Phillips has been chosen as the Grand Marshall for Sparta's July Fourth Parade, which will travel along Main Street on Saturday, July 3 at 11 a.m.
