Numerous Easter services planned
Numerous local churches are planning on holding sunrise services in
honor of the Easter holiday on Sunday, April 11.
In addition, at least two Easter egg hunts are planned on Saturday,
April 10.
The following is a listing of the services:
New Hope Missionary Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise
service at 6:30 a.m. that will be broadcast live on WCOK radio station.
There will be a fellowship breakfast following the services. There will
be no Sunday school. Worship service will be held at 11 a.m.
Bellview Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m.
Breakfast will be served following the service. Sunday school will be
held at 9 a.m. with worship service at 10 a.m.
Grassy Creek United Methodist Church, located at the Virginia/North
Carolina line on N.C. 16 North, will have an Easter cantata entitled
"At the Cross" at 11 a.m.
Beech Grove Baptist Church, located at 1203 Beech Grove Lane in
Galax, Va., will have sunrise services at 7 a.m. with breakfast
following the service. An Easter service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Mount Zion United Methodist Church will have an Easter sunrise
service at 6:30 a.m. with the Rev. Rob Brooks bringing the message.
Breakfast will be served following the service.
Osborne Memorial Baptist Church and Mount Carmel Baptist Church will
have sunrise services at 7 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, located
in Turkey Knob. Breakfast will be served at the community building
following the service.
Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church will have an Easter sunrise
service at 6 a.m. with Brother John Miller bringing the message. A
fellowship breakfast will follow the service. Sunday school will be at 9.
