Several local residents attended the Alleghany County Board of Commissioners meeting Monday to voice concerns over a proposed change to a local hunting ordinance.
The change, which was authorized by the commissioners at their Feb. 16 meeting, was presented to the board in draft form at their 6:30 p.m. meeting Monday. The county would have to petition the N.C. Legislature before any such change could be made.
The proposed wording included changing the current ordinance to make it
illegal to hunt or shoot from a road right of way.
