Greenway park idea for Sparta discussed

Tree falls on pickup; kills Sparta resident

JEFFERSON — A Sparta woman was killed and her husband was seriously injured when a tree fell on their pickup on N.C. 16 last Saturday afternoon about four miles from Jefferson, according to a report by Trooper C.P. Olive of the N.C. Highway Patrol.
