The Town of Sparta has new garbage cans in stock, and town officials are hoping to phase in their use in the town.
"We're saying, when your trash can tears up and you need a new one, please come look at ours," Town Manager Tom Douglas remarked just after the Oct. 7 meeting of the town council.
Council had voted in March to purchase and mandate use of cans town-wide to promote safety and cleanliness.
