DESTROYED — The home of Rod Cate on Fox Ridge Road was destroyed by
fire late last week.

Fire destroyed an older house on Fox Ridge Road Sept. 19, as personnel from a majority of the county's departments spent six hours battling the blaze.
Some went back the following morning, as the fire flared up again. The fire crews used more than 20,000 gallons of water during the two days.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured in the incidents.
In the photo above right, firemen climb on the roof to
battle the fire on the second floor of the home. The picture at left
shows flames leaping from the back and top of the home in this view
from the road. The fire started at around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning and
firemen spent about six hours fighting the blaze. The fire rekindled
Saturday morning and firemen returned to extinguish the flames again.
Firemen from three fire departments responded Friday.
