The CarQuest Mowdown fall lawnmower race was held last Saturday night at the Justice Carlisle Higgins Agricultural Fairgrounds in Sparta, despite weather that threatened to postpone the event.

Pearlman is new vet at Twin Oaks Clinic

Correction

A newspaper article in last week's edition had an incorrect figure concerning the purchase of a piece of property. The Alleghany Fairgrounds Inc. board agreed to pay $182,000 for the Max Armentrout property, not $250,000 as was reported.
