The Alleghany County Board of Commissioners agreed Monday night, on a 3-2 split vote, to fund $107,025 to help pay for the 10 acre Max Armentrout house and property, which had a payment due Tuesday, Aug. 5, the day after the commissioners' meeting.
The board of Alleghany Fairgrounds Inc. signed an agreement with
Armentrout last year to purchase the property and had requested that
the county fund the purchase in this year's budget. The land is
directly adjacent to the fairgrounds.
