Dance Recital

The Dance Place held its annual recital performances last Friday and Saturday at the Sparta School Auditorium. The recital was formerly held on Saturdays only, but due to the number of participants, the event now spans two days with two shows on Saturday.

In the photo at right, a group of dancers performs an act entitled, "Imprisoned." It is an interpretation of a song which is featured in the movie "The Planet of the Apes." A total of 17 dancers performed in the production, portraying the humans from the movie. The dance was the high score production at a recent competition.

In the photo at left, Hannah Smith dances to "We've got Annie," a Broadway show tune. She is also a recent competition winner. Students from the studio will compete nationally in June in Hillsboro.
