Parties have agreed to a settlement in the lawsuit over damage to the Alleghany High School gymnasium floor.
According to the report of mediator James B. Long, filed May 7, parties in the Alleghany County Board of Education versus Tony Greene/T. Greene Plumbing Co. and Gulf Insurance versus Orkan Architecture and James R. Vannoy & Sons Construction lawsuit reached an agreement on all issues during a settlement conference held April 29 in Sparta.
"We did reach an agreement in principle," said Board Attorney Fred
Johnson just after last week's school board meeting. That meeting
included a closed session, part of which was taken to discuss the
lawsuit.
