A lawsuit filed by Alleghany County, the Town of Sparta and other local entities against York International Corporation and Bristol Compressors is no longer in the mediation phase.
According to a report filed by court-appointed mediator Kelly Johnson, the two parties reached an impasse in the negotiations. The conference was completed on Feb. 12.
The cost of the mediation was $900 in all, including a $125 administrative fee, a $625 mediation fee for five hours of mediation at $125 per hour and $150 for travel costs.
Given that the mediation failed, the suit now likely will be scheduled for a court date.
