With lots of makeup, wigs and costumes fit for a queen, the All Male Revue hit the stage last Saturday night in front of a crowd of about 800 people.

The first annual event was held at the Sparta Elementary School Auditorium and featured 12 contestants in the 'beauty' and 'talent' pageant, which featured a number of local men decked out in women's apparel for a good cause. While the pageant was obviously short on beauties, it was long on laughs.

Participants portrayed such famous singers and performers as Jeannie Rielly (Roger Bledsoe), Josie and the Pussycats (Brian Finney with Holly and Colleen Ray), Nancy Sinatra (Tony Shepherd), Shania Twain (Phil Edwards), Redneck Dolly (Jackie Maines), Minnie Pearl (Michael Davis), Sonny and Cher (John Farrelly and Danielle Kroeger).

At left, 'Jeannie Rielly' (Roger Bledsoe) lip-syncs a few lines of "Harper Valley PTA" during the show Saturday night.
