The parties have agreed on a mediator in the Alleghany County Board of Education versus Tony Greene/T. Greene Plumbing Co. and Gulf Insurance versus Orkan Architecture and James R. Vannoy & Sons Construction lawsuit.
The suit concerns water damage to the floor of the new gymnasium at Alleghany High School. The damage necessitated the floor's replacement and delayed the opening of the gym for a year — from August 2001, when the rest of the school's east wing opened, to August 2002.
James M. Long of Pilot Mountain, a retired judge and certified mediator, will conduct the mediated settlement conference in the case.
