Christine Henderson was recently named director of Alleghany Connections and social worker for Hospice of Alleghany.

Henderson named to head connections

Christine Henderson's nine and one-half years of experience with the children's services division of the Alleghany County Department of Social Services (DSS) should serve her well in both of her new posts. Henderson is the new executive director of Alleghany Connections. She also became the social worker for Hospice of Alleghany earlier this year.

The director position with Connections, which she assumed Oct. 17, is a half-time job, while her work for hospice is on a contractual basis.

Prior to accepting the new positions, formerly held by Millie Swenk, Henderson worked for the Alleghany County Department of Social Services.
