Wagoner now working at partnership

Angie Wagoner was hired on Oct. 9 as the Partnership for Children’s new Director of Child Care Resources.

Wagoner comes to Alleghany from Wilkes County, where she worked for the Partnership there as a parent counselor for two years.

Wagoner is taking over the position formerly held by Katy Hall, who has accepted a teaching position with the Grayson County (Va.) school system.

The position that Wagoner is assuming is responsible for assisting day care facilities with training and licensing requirements, as well as helping local residents with finding adequate day care facilities and providing parents and teachers with child development information.

Wagoner, who is an Alleghany native, said she was pleased to be employed in her home county.

“It was a great opportunity for me to be able to come back home,” she said. “It was the opportunity I had been waiting for.
