One-stop voting begins; forum for politicians set

With the general election on Nov. 5 fast approaching and absentee voting well under way here, Alleghany County Board of Elections Director Karen K. Fender said interest seems fairly strong for the upcoming election.

"We have had about 225 absentee voters since Oct. 1," commented Fender. That total already exceeds the primary absentee totals, which reached about 160 voters.
