The second annual "Very Beary Fun Day" fair last Saturday featured activities for children as well as a program for adults.

The event, held April 27 at the Justice Carlisle Higgins Center, was sponsored by the Alleghany Partnership for Children and by Dr. Jack Cahn of Alleghany Family Practice, Dr. John Kovacich and Dr. Beth Lyon-Smith as part of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Lee Cornett of the partnership said about 30 children, mostly age eight or younger, came, while 15 to 20 adults attended the program on stress relief.
