An Ennice teenager injured in a Feb. 11 crash on N.C. 93 was improving this week at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (N.C. Baptist) in Winston-Salem.
Sarah Childress, 16, was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday at Baptist. She had been listed in critical condition the day after the accident, then in serious condition later last week.
Two other members of the same family died from injuries sustained in the wreck. Rickey Blevins was pronounced dead at the scene, while 13-year-old Tammy Childress died while being transported by Air Care to N.C. Baptist Hospital.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 11, when a Ford mini-van collided with a disabled tractor-trailer. The three other occupants of the van were injured less seriously.
