Alleghany in Motion (AIM), the county's new public transportation system, is now offering rural general public transportation to everyone in the county.
As an incentive to entice riders, Transportation Director Jim Page announced Monday night that the county will be offering rides from anywhere to anywhere within the county for $2 one way.
"We are going to do this to help launch our rural general public transportation," Page said Monday night at the county commissioners meeting. The service and special rates will begin on Feb. 11 and last for four weeks, Page said.
