Christmas tree pickup planned by town

Crews from the Town of Sparta will help town residents dispose of their Christmas trees as the holiday season concludes.

The town has scheduled next Thursday, Jan. 3 as Christmas tree pickup day. Town crews will collect and haul off any Christmas trees placed by the curbs.

Town Manager Tom Douglas said the pickup is for Christmas trees only. Semiannual pickups for other large items are normally scheduled in the spring and fall.]
