ATV Rodeo held Saturday at fairgrounds; attendance lowBy ROBBY LUCKEStaff Did you think the Alleghany County Fair ended about a month ago? In fact, what turned out to be the fair's final event — the All-Terrain Vehicle Rodeo — was held last Saturday at the county fairgrounds. Originally slated for Aug. 29 as part of fair week, the ATV Rodeo was rained out and subsequently rescheduled. The event was a new endeavor for both the fair and the Alleghany chapter of Future Farmers of America. FFA co-advisor Lynn Lambert explained that the rodeo was both a fairgrounds function and a community service project for the FFA. A crowd of about 100 braved the cool weather to turn out for the event. |
