Strickland found guilty of shooting

Michael Wayne Strickland was sentenced to probation, but no jail time, for the shooting of Angela Dawn Petty last January by Judge Dennis J. Winner. The brief trial, held Monday in Alleghany Criminal Superior Court, ended through a plea-bargain agreement.

American Chestnut trees have new hope through cross-breed
