Five local residents netted drug charges in the culmination of an investigation that began in October of 2000, Sheriff Mike Caudill said in an interview Tuesday.
Charged were Roger Chester Andrews, Benjamin David Andrews, Brandy Ann Evans, Donald Alfred Billings and Christopher Warren Dexter. Caudill said that his department is continuing to investigate this and other drug activity in the area.
"This investigation is continuing and we are expecting to make even more arrests in the coming weeks," Caudill said. "This is just part of a larger ongoing investigation.
"I am very pleased with everyone's work in this investigation," Caudill said. "We hope that this effort will have a positive impact on the present situation in Alleghany County."
"We appreciate the help of all of the assisting law enforcement in this
investigation and our undercover officer for helping make these arrests
possible," Caudill commented.
