The N.C. Department of Transportation held a public hearing Tuesday on its secondary roads construction program for Alleghany County for 2001-02.
Transportation officials indicated the department anticipates available funds totaling $1,850,584. The state's plan calls for spending $1,520,000 to pave unpaved roads, $91,899 for spot stabilizations on unpaved roads, $136,376 for other road maintenance and improvements, and $102,309 for contingencies.
Of the expected available funds, $1,105,989 are from the secondary roads fund, with $744,595 from the trust fund.
