The owner of Kiddie Land day care and a former employee were charged recently with felony fraudulent misrepresentation, according to warrants filed by Investigator Calvin Friesland of the Sparta Police Department.
Day care center owner Betty Cook and former employee Angela Sexton were charged with two counts of fraudulent misrepresentation each for getting child care subsidy payments in a fraudulent manner. The day care has since closed.
The offenses allegedly occurred from May 2 until Sept. 5 of 2000. The
warrants were not issued until April 18, 2001. The two were scheduled to
appear in court on April 24 for a first appearance on the charges.
