Ordinance only affects businesses, county says

Despite questions to the contrary by at least one local resident, the county's blasting ordinance does not pertain to individuals, according to County Manager Don Adams.

Local resident Dennis Smith said Monday afternoon at the county commission meeting that he had questions about the ordinance after he read in The Alleghany News that the amount of black powder, smokeless powder and primer caps was limited in the ordinance.
