County hires planner

Alleghany County now has its first planner, with the hiring of Florida native Jack Conaway.

The full-time planner position will pay $28,092 per year salary with full county benefits.

Conaway, who was born and raised in Miami, attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology.

After obtaining his degree from the university, Conaway completed about 45 hours of post-graduate work in public administration.
