An Independence, Va. woman was charged with the murder of two women last Thursday, including the Jan. 31 killing of Linda McKnight of Deerwood Lane.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department arrested 59-year-old Betty Jean Angeline of Klondike Road.
In addition to the McKnight murder, Angeline was also charged with the March 23 killing of Glenda Jenkins, also of Klondike Road in Independence. Angeline lived about a quarter mile from Jenkins’ residence.
Jenkins’ death was at first reported as a suicide until suspicious
evidence at the scene led investigators to dig deeper. The weapon used to kill McKnight appears to have been the same one used in the Jenkins’ slaying.
