First Baby

Auston Ryley Wiles became the first baby of the 21st Century born at Alleghany Memorial Hospital last week. Auston was born to Amanda and Jamie Wiles of Glade Valley at 10:22 p.m. on Jan. 24. He weighed eight pounds eight ounces and measured 22 and one-half inches. Dr. Jeff Ray was the attending physician. Auston is the couple's first child.

Maternal grandparents are Mary and Richard Davis of Sparta and Kimberly and Richard Evans of Memphis, Tenn. Paternal grandparents are Emma and Eugene Wiles of Sparta.
