LaRue captures NC Press awardCoby LaRue, editor of The Alleghany News, will be honored tonight by the North Carolina Press Association for his efforts in newspaper design. The press association awarded LaRue third-place in the Appearance and Design Category of its annual statewide newspaper contest. LaRue has been on the staff of the newspaper for four years and has worked as editor for about three years. The newspaper's reporting staff was last honored for its news coverage in 1997. General Manager Ron Brown said, "Coby has continued the tradition of past award winners and I am proud for him and the newspaper that he is being recognized for his accomplishments by his peers." |
