Forest fire scorches 25 acres

A forest fire that was discovered on Reeves Ridge Road around 2 p.m. Tuesday was finally brought under control around 10 p.m. that night after endangering two homes.

Draft TIP for 2002-2008 is released by state DOT

The North Carolina Department of Transportation released its draft Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) recently and is seeking comment on the proposal.
