Blevins Building Supply plans to complete a new Sparta store on U.S. 21 north near the Sparta Parkway by March of 2001.

The new facility will feature a 90' by 120' building and a lumber yard, with the store mainly geared toward the do-it-yourselfer, according to part business owner and Glade Valley store manager Billy Blevins.

"This store will be more geared toward the walk-in trade than our Glade Valley location," he said. "It will save folks the trouble of having to drive six miles out" to the other store, he added.

"We're going to have twice as many in-house items as we do at this store," Blevins said in reference to the Glade Valley store. "We're going to have a lot more to offer.

"It is going to be a full scale hardware store," he added. Items to be offered will include lumber, doors, appliances, electrical and plumbing supplies, paint and numerous other hardware items.
