Infant dies in car accident An infant died last Sunday night as the result of injuries received in an accident which happened around 7:35 p.m. last Saturday. Absentee voting is "no excuse" With a change to the North Carolina General Statutes, the General Assembly has made one-stop voting for absentee voters a "no excuse" affair. Schools give WCC the OK to use AHS In a specially called meeting on Oct. 4, the Alleghany County School Board voted unanimously to approve the use of the cyber campus at Alleghany High School during the school day by Wilkes Community College.
