Brinegar Family signs contractBy COBY LaRUEStaff A local Southern gospel group recently got the break it was waiting for when an offer to sign for an independent record label hit the table. The Brinegar Family group is made up of three couples - Junior and Louise Brinegar and their sons and their wives, Kevin and Sherry and Michael and Rita. The group, or family in this case, recently penned a deal with Prominence Music of Knoxville, Tenn. Ricky Perkins met the group at a singing at their home church, Jesus Life Tabernacle in Moravian Falls in Wilkes County, and then later approached them on the possibility of working for the label. Prominence offers nationwide distribution and airplay on a network of 1,200 radio stations across the country. "We've never had a label before now," said group member Rita Brinegar. |
