A paddle tale With a steady misting rain and temperatures hovering around 35 degrees, last Thursday afternoon wasn't a typical day to be planting an oar in the water. "Missing" inventory declines to $8,000 The Alleghany County Board of Commissioners approved writing off $8,117.36 in "not found" inventory at their 10 a.m. meeting Monday. Schools finalize budget request After a three-hour plus closed session slated to discuss personnel issues, the Alleghany County Board of Education moved to pass a revised budget request.
