DOT names county engineer For Alleghany and Yadkin offices

The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Division of Highways has named Brandon W. Whitaker as county maintenance engineer for Alleghany and Yadkin counties.

The two counties are both in the 11th Highway Division. Whitaker, who officially took the job on Dec. 25, was promoted from his former job with DOT as assistant resident engineer in North Wilkesboro.

Whitaker is taking over the position formerly held by Mike Pettyjohn, who was promoted to district engineer in Elkin.
