Suspect snagged in Wilco break in

A 34-year-old Sparta man was charged with felonious breaking and entering, attempted larceny and resisting an officer for allegedly breaking into the Wilco station in Sparta during the early morning hours of New Year's Eve day, according to a report filed by Officer Calvin Friesland of the Sparta Police Department.

Walker garners C&E; takes over collection of recyclables, trash

A new garbage collection and recycling service provider will be handling the trash pickup in Sparta and also the county's recycling center as of Jan. 15.
