Variety show is Oct. 16

The seventh annual Hillbilly Comedy and Variety Show will be this Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Sparta Elementary School Auditorium at 7 p.m. The show is being directed by Agnes Joines and all proceeds will benefit the Alleghany County Planning Committee, a supportive arm of BROC (Blue Ridge Opportunity Commission).

BROC helps families and individuals in Alleghany County with assistance in fuel costs, electric bills and clothing. BROC also assists Gap Civil Head Start, 4-H, Read-to-Me and Christmas Cheer.
