Lead cleanup at the courthouse could be underway in as little as two weeks, County Manager Don Adams said in an interview Tuesday.
Three companies have voiced plans to place bids to cleanup the lead-based paint in the structure. Bidders will be NEO Corporation of Statesville, Allied Contract Group of Charlotte and Contaminant Control of Matthews.
Adams said the contractors have toured the courthouse, but have not formally placed bids or provided information on the cost of the project. The bids should be turned in to the county office by Thursday,
