After two days of steady rain, the burning ban was lifted April 28 at 9 a.m. in the county.
"Everybody got a little rain," said Melvin Crouse of the N.C. Forest Service. The burning ban was in effect for the entire western portion of the state.
The ban was put in effect on April 12 after large wildfires burned hundreds of acres in Wilkes, Swain and other western counties.
