Total proceeds for the 32nd annual WCOK Radio Heart Auction totalled $14,218, according to event chairperson Virginia Setzer.
The second week of the auction, held last Saturday, netted $8,590 for the Alleghany Heart Fund, which is a supportive arm of the American Heart Association.
The goal for the event this year was $13,000, a mark easily surpassed by the two-week event.
The top-selling item in the auction was a NASCAR package, which included pit passes and a ride in the official pace car during a race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The package sold for $1,000 to Peggy and Ed Chresenberry, who were also the top spenders at the auction. The couple also purchased an antique chair (donated by L&M Upholstery) for $275.
Other top sellers included a gourmet dinner for six (donated by Sandy Carter), which sold for $250; a blanket chest (donated by Tom Atwood), which sold for $300, a set of silver Franklin Mint big game coins (donated by Wiley McNeil), which sold for $200, and other items.
