A public hearing on a plan that, if approved, will lead the county to borrow about $1.4 million and increase taxes by one to two cents will be held tonight, March 4.
The hearing will be held at the Alleghany County Courthouse courtroom at 7 p.m.
The school facilities plan, which provides major improvements at Glade Creek, Alleghany High and Piney Creek schools, will be the topic of discussion.
The fate of the plan most likely will be decided on March 15 at the commissioners' 10 a.m. meeting, pending public comment received March 4.
