Ned Fowler of the Northwestern Regional Housing Authority confirmed Friday that his group will be seeking state tax credit funding for the building of a low- to moderate-income apartment complex in Sparta.
The complex was approved by the town for a lot near Bristol Compressors and the Green Acres subdivision last year. Since the plan was approved by the plan last year, Fowler will not have to appear before the town council or planning board for approval of the project, providing that he uses the same location or another location that is already zoned appropriately.
However, the complex was not selected to receive the state tax credit funding. Fowler said he is planning to reapply this year for a site in the Sparta area. He would not confirm or deny if the same site is going to be utilized. "I really don't know for sure", he said.
